- Volunteer in your community (See volunteer section)
- Meet with counselor to discuss your grades and your plans
- Join clubs and participate in sports
- Take the PSAT in October and see if you can qualify the National Merit Scholarship Program
- Introduce yourself to University representatives who visit Samueli Academy
- Register and prepare for the SAT or ACT (Spring of Junior Year)
- Start thinking about who to ask for a letter of recommendation
- Seek scholarships (see scholarship section)
SPRING
- Maintain grades - college admission officers pay close attention to your junior year
- Meet w/ your counselor if you need to improve your grade or recover credits for a core class for graduation or college
- Make a list of colleges you plan to attend
- Participate in school events (workshops, college representative visits)
- Meet with counselor to discuss your grades and your plans
- Introduce yourself to College Representatives that visit Samueli Academy
- Join clubs and participate in sports
- Attend college fairs (see calendar)
- Seek scholarships (see scholarship section)
- Create an account on: www.cappex.com and www.collegeweeklive.com
- Take SAT in the Spring: sat.org/register
- Take AP exams if you took AP Courses
